Proud Haddock is a theatre company founded by Jimmy Walters and James Ahearne in 2014. To date, they have produced a total of eight productions. Proud Haddock pride themselves on having four completely sold out productions consecutively with some of their hits including John Osborne’s A Subject of Scandal and Concern starring Jamie Muscato, the revivals of Tony Harrison’s The Trackers of Oxyrhynchus and Square Rounds, Mrs Orwell starring Cressida Bonas; and Billy Bishop Goes To War. They are responsible for staging the first ever live performance at the Saatchi Gallery and in 2017 our Artistic Director, Jimmy Walters, was selected as a potential nominee for the Forbes 30 under 30 award in the arts category.

 

2021 sees the company move forward with their next production; the UK premiere of How to Survive an Apocalypse by Jordan Hall at the Finborough Theatre. They plan to take the production on tour as well as hosting several workshops for drama graduates who have been affected by the COVID pandemic. 

 

Responsibilities  

 

  • To be Associate Producer on the upcoming production of How to Survive an Apocalypse as well as assisting on the organisation of the workshops.

  • Working alongside the Artistic Director (AD) / Artistic team and contributing to the overall delivery, budget, and production of How to Survive an Apocalypse, including any tour organisation for 2021

  • Acting as the main point of contact for all of the creative team involved on the production of How to Survive an Apocalypse.

  • Liaising with all venues.

  • Regular social media and website updates.

  • Organising the practical workshops throughout the year and acting as the main point of contact for the rehearsal spaces and the actors.

  • Assisting on the organisation of the tour such as accommodation, transport, per diem, budget control and venue communication.  

  • To provide day to day management of the producing function – supporting the Artistic Director and Executive Director, in ensuring that all work at Proud Haddock is produced and presented with high quality production and organisation.

  • Day to day social media.

  • To attend all production meetings.

  • To attend all company hospitality events, including rehearsal drinks, preview drinks and end of run drinks.

  • To manage the press night invitation list, alongside the Head of Marketing and Press Representative.

  • To attend previews, including tech notes sessions, preview meetings, press nights and last nights, as well as any other company events as required.

 

Skills

 

  • Must have a minimum of three years experience working in theatre. 

  • Must have strong social media skills and a good knowledge of dropbox, gmail, google drives and other popular forums.

  • Must be personable and enjoy working with different departments.

  • Must have strong organisational and communication skills.
